Lockdown 23.6.20

Lockdown

Lockdown is slowdown - or is it?

After three months I’ve decelerated,

there’s poetry emotion at last!

A poem flows from the present moment

in my spirit in my room.

As writer I write to specifications

but today no words flow

save those true to the present moment.

Here I am housebound

in the Covid climate of fear

with daily walks of consolation.

It is good to be alive and attentive

to the present moment,

empty diary but fullness of spirit.
